Explore the visual arts through the medium of clay combined with mixed media. Day one we will create sculpture. You will build up a figurine on a small armature with tape and cotton on a wooden base and rod with self hardening clay sculpting the figure. Day two you will create a clay tile with a 3-D scene, or a face built up. Day three you will design and paint glaze on a plate. We will use color block theory. We will also glaze the pottery from day two. Day 4 you will do texture and crafting with clay and day five you will explore printmaking onto clay slabs.
