Explore the visual arts through the medium of clay combined with mixed media. Day 1 we will create sculpture. You will build up a figurine on a small armature with tape and cotton on a wooden base and rod with self hardening clay sculpting the figure. Day 2 you will create a clay tile with a 3-D scene, or a face built up. Day 3 you will design and paint glaze on a plate. We will use color block theory. We will also glaze the pottery from day 2. Day 4 you will do texture and crafting with clay and day 5 you will explore printmaking onto clay slabs. We will have an Art Show to celebrate your child’s creations and to pick up their glazed wares. Super fun day camp with resident clay instructor Lynn Anne Verbeck.
